Our Story
Our Story — Hilm Chapals
Rooted in Tradition. Crafted for Life.
For generations, the art of chapal-making has been woven into the fabric of Pakistan's most storied regions — from the rugged passes of Peshawar to the sun-baked plains of Balochistan. At Hilm Chapals, we carry that legacy forward, one stitch at a time.
Where It All Began
Hilm Chapals was born from a simple belief: that the finest footwear is not made in factories, but by the hands of craftsmen who have inherited their skill across generations. We work directly with master artisans from Peshawar, Kohat, Charsada, and Balochistan — regions long celebrated for producing Pakistan's most iconic and enduring chapals.
The Craft Behind Every Pair
Every Hilm chapal begins with genuine full-grain leather — selected for its natural strength, breathability, and the way it moulds to your foot over time. No shortcuts. No synthetic substitutes. Our artisans hand-cut, hand-stitch, and hand-finish each pair using techniques passed down through decades of practice.
The result is footwear that doesn't just look premium — it feels it, and it lasts.
Our Regional Styles
- Peshawari Chapals — The iconic open-toe sandal of the northwest frontier, known for its bold leather straps, sturdy sole, and timeless silhouette. A symbol of Pashtun heritage worn by kings and commoners alike.
- Kohati Chapals — Refined and elegant, the Kohati style features intricate stitching and a sleeker profile, beloved for both everyday wear and formal occasions.
- Balochi Chapals — Rich in colour and embroidery, Balochi chapals reflect the vibrant artistic traditions of Balochistan, with hand-embellished uppers that make each pair truly one of a kind.
- Charsada Chapals — Lightweight and practical, Charsada chapals are crafted for comfort across long hours of wear, with a supple leather construction that breaks in beautifully.
Why Genuine Leather?
Genuine leather breathes with your foot, resists wear, and develops a rich patina that synthetic materials simply cannot replicate. A well-made leather chapal, properly cared for, can last years — even decades. That's not just quality. That's value.
Our Promise
At Hilm Chapals, we don't mass-produce. We curate. Every pair that leaves our workshop meets a standard of craftsmanship we're proud to put our name on. When you wear Hilm, you're not just wearing footwear — you're wearing a piece of Pakistan's living heritage.
